Specific notes from snapshot reviews and benchmark work — including where the ritual felt awkward at first.
“We fixed the snapshot window to Sunday 23:00 HKT and stopped arguing about which chart was ‘current.’ The week-to-week comparison finally made sense.”
— Mei L., private holder, Mid-Levels“The benchmark workshop forced me to admit my ‘index’ had almost none of the mid-cap names I actually hold. The first month of reviews looked worse against the new set — which was the point. I still wish we had done it a year earlier.”
— Adrian K., contractor, Kowloon“Onboarding took longer than the calendar slot because one exchange refused a clean read-only key. They stayed patient and wrote a manual balance step instead of pretending the monitor could invent numbers.”
— S. Rahman, family desk coordinator“I came in wanting someone to tell me what to buy. They refused, kept the hour on contribution and drift, and mailed a dull one-pager. After four Sundays I realised dull was what I had asked for without knowing the word.”
— Natalie W., Sai Ying PunExtended note: eight weeks with a split sleeve
A client arrived with a heavy bitcoin core and a restless alt sleeve that changed names almost monthly. We split benchmarks: one line for the core, one equal-weight basket rebuilt only when the sleeve’s membership list was deliberately edited.
Through eight Sunday snapshots, the core tracked its line within a narrow band while the sleeve’s secondary benchmark revealed that “busy trading” had mostly cancelled itself out. The mild reservation they shared mid-retainer — that reviews felt slow compared with Telegram chat rooms — remained true. They renewed anyway, citing fewer sleepless midweek chart checks.
